Oil sump with dual-fin heat exchanger principle
Greater thermal reserve for Porsche M96 / M97 engines
COREFLOW HX is a CNC-machined, anodised aluminium oil sump for Porsche 996, 997, 986 and 987 models with M96 and M97 engines. The design utilises a dual-fin heat exchanger principle: internally to extend oil dwell time, and externally to provide additional heat dissipation via the airflow — offering supplementary oil cooling without the need for hoses and without interfering with the oil circuit.
Longer oil residence time on the inside; additional heat dissipation on the outside via fins exposed to the airflow.
High-quality machined, a precise fit and available in three finish colours.
No external oil lines, no additional oil cooler pipework, no interference with the oil circuit.
Additional small drain plug at the lowest point for the most complete oil drainage possible.
Why COREFLOW HX?
In Porsche 996, 997, 986 and 987 models with M96 or M97 engines, the oil temperature is heavily dependent on the engine’s overall thermal system. When coolant and engine temperatures rise due to hot weather, sporty driving, mountain passes, traffic jams or track days, the engine oil is also subjected to greater stress.
Oil temperature is crucial for lubricating film stability, wear protection and thermal resilience. COREFLOW HX increases the effective cooling surface directly on the component itself — with fin geometry optimised for flow and thermal performance.

Technical highlights
CNC-machined aluminium, anodised — precise fit, high-quality surface and corrosion-resistant finish.
How the dual-fin principle works
The internal fin structure influences the oil flow and extends the oil’s dwell time on heat-conducting surfaces.
External fins increase the surface area and aid additional heat dissipation into the airflow.
The cooling effect is generated by the oil sump itself. No additional pipes or external oil cooler are required.
Particularly relevant for sporty driving, high outside temperatures, track days, mountain passes or prolonged periods under load.
Compatibility
Compatible with Porsche 996, 997, 986 and 987 — including Cabrio, Targa, Boxster and Cayman — with M96 and M97 engines.

FAQ
What exactly does ‘without interfering with the oil circuit’ mean?
The additional cooling is achieved through the geometry of the oil pan itself. No additional pipework or external oil cooler conversion is required.
What does a genuine bolt-on design mean?
COREFLOW HX is bolted into place using the original mounting points. No additional drilling or fixings are required.
What are the benefits of the dual-fin principle?
On the inside, fins disrupt the flow and extend the oil’s residence time on heat-conducting surfaces. On the outside, fins dissipate heat into the airflow — similar to an air-cooled heat exchanger.
What is the second small oil drain plug for?
It is positioned at the lowest point of the oil sump and helps ensure the oil is drained as completely as possible during servicing.
Important note regarding fit
Please check before purchasing whether your vehicle and engine are compatible with the specified Porsche 996 / 997 / 986 / 987 application featuring an M96 or M97 engine. The OE reference numbers are provided for comparison with the existing oil sump.
If in doubt, we recommend checking compatibility using your vehicle’s specifications, engine type and existing OE number.
