16V PD injector bridge

The 16V PDE bridge and its associated sets are intended for compatible 2.0 TDI 16V unit-injector engines with BOSCH PDEs. Before choosing, check the engine code and the type of PDE actually fitted. Common-rail engines, 8V PDE versions and Siemens/Piezo PDEs are outside this scope of application.

The 07eins 16V PDE injector bridge is suitable for 16 V 2.0 TDI engines fitted with BOSCH PD injectors bolted on both sides, with the following engine codes: AZV, BKD, BLB, BNA, BRE, BVF, BVG and BRF.

The numbers help to identify the BOSCH unit injector fitted and thus to select the appropriate 16V solution. These are the numbers of the PDE injector, not the item numbers of the 16V PD injector bridge.

The individual 16V PD injector bridge contains the mechanical stabilisation solution. The complete set adds the 16V PD injector fitting kit and four reinforced 16V VITON seal kits. The Ultimate Set also includes an ORIGINAL VW wiring harness whose plastic rail 07eins has already shortened for use with the 16V PD injector bridge. This allows you to choose the kit contents to suit your planned work.

For the VW T5 2.5 TDI (all engine code letters), the PD injector bridge is a product option for additional stabilisation of the PD injectors. PD injector retainers stabilise the individual PD injectors and, depending on the engine, are available as matching sets for 3-, 4-, 5- or 10-cylinder engines. For compatible 2.0 TDI 16V models with BOSCH PD injectors, there is a dedicated 16V PD injector bridge. The PFS kit takes a different approach: it is designed to prevent the fuel lines from running dry after the engine is switched off. The combination of materials combines thermal compensation with targeted clamping force: the aluminium connecting strip takes into account the thermal behaviour of the aluminium cylinder head. The retaining brackets made of quenched and tempered steel provide the necessary clamping force and dimensional stability where they are locally required.

Poor cold or hot starts, uneven idling, jerking, loss of power and recurring leaks are reasons to have the unit injector system checked. A rising oil level or a smell of diesel in the engine oil warrants particular attention. Make a note for the workshop of when the problems occur and what seal replacement or repair work has already been carried out; this will help to distinguish specifically between PDEs, seating surfaces and other causes.

A rising oil level refers to an increase in the oil level without any corresponding top-up. In the case of diesel engines, this may be caused by fuel ingress: diesel dilutes the engine oil and reduces its lubricating effect. A rising oil level alone does not prove the cause. You should therefore have the source of the rise checked, particularly if there is a smell of diesel or if the engine’s running characteristics have changed.

The 07eins 16V PD injector bridge provides additional stabilisation for the unit injectors in compatible 2.0 TDI 16V engines with BOSCH PD injectors bolted on both sides. It is a dedicated product line for this PDE injector design and is available as a single bridge as well as in Complete and Ultimate sets.

The adjustment plates compensate for tolerances and enable a defined preload. This ensures that the retaining brackets fit snugly against the connecting strip. They must be selected and fitted in accordance with the relevant installation instructions.

The fitting kit complements the installation of the 07eins 16V PD injector bridge as well as work on compatible, double-bolted BOSCH PD injectors. It includes gasket sets, rocker arm bolts and threadlocker.

The set contains five M8 × 56 rocker arm bolts, four BOSCH seal sets or repair kits, and a screw locking compound in a dosing syringe. Reinforced 07eins VITON seals are not included in this individual fitting set.

Use the supplied threadlocker for the screws on the PD injector bridge or PD injector retainer specified in the installation instructions. This approval applies to these specific assembly points and must not be extended to other engine screws.

The wiring harness establishes the electrical connection to the unit injectors inside the engine. If the engine has already been opened for a PD injector overhaul or bridge installation, it makes sense to carry out its replacement in conjunction with this work. The Ultimate Set therefore bundles it with the mechanical repair kit.

To ensure that the ORIGINAL VW wiring harness can be combined with the 16V PD injector bridge, its plastic rail must be shortened to allow sufficient space. 07eins takes care of this preparation for you as part of the Ultimate Set.

The kit is intended for the reassembly of an existing 07eins 16V PD injector bridge. It becomes relevant when the bridge has been removed, for example, for a PDE service, new seals, diagnostics or work on the cylinder head.

The overhaul kit contains the bolts and washers listed in the product description for reassembly. A complete 16V PD injector bridge is not included: the connecting bar, retaining brackets and adjustment plates remain part of the existing bridge. You will need to supply seals, rocker arm bolts and threadlocker separately if required.

When tightened, bolts are subjected to stress and may stretch. For reassembly, removed stretch bolts in particular are replaced with new ones. Which bolts need to be replaced is determined by the relevant assembly instructions.

07eins’s M6 × 95 injector bolts are designed to fit the additional component geometry of the 16V PD injector bridge. Standard injector bolts, or those that are too short, must not be reused in this fitting position.

Adjustment is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for the specific engine and the PD injector variant fitted. This includes the correct positioning of the PD injector and adjustment at the rocker arm using a suitable tool. Follow the relevant installation instructions or consult a specialist workshop; incorrect settings can damage the PD injector and the valve train.

The standard 16V PD injector fitting kit contains standard BOSCH gasket sets or repair kits. The reinforced 07eins 16V VITON gasket sets are also included in the Complete Set and the Ultimate Set: four gasket sets in each, each containing 2 sealing rings for the four PDEs.

The 2.0 TDI 16V has four cylinders and four unit injectors. Therefore, each of the two sets contains four reinforced 16V VITON gasket sets, each comprising two sealing rings: one gasket set per PD injector.
