OELMETRIK D2 brings the actual engine oil temperature right into your line of sight. The sensor measures the engine oil temperature directly in the engine oil, the BLE sensor module transmits the readings wirelessly, and the AMOLED touchscreen is mounted on the air vent using a magnetic mount – it can be positioned flexibly and is easy to read.

A coolant temperature of 90 °C doesn’t tell you how hot your oil is.

Coolant and engine oil reach their operating temperatures at different rates. The coolant temperature gauge may have looked normal for some time, whilst the oil has not yet reached its actual operating temperature – or is continuing to heat up under sustained load.

OELMETRIK D2 shows you the engine oil temperature and its trend directly in the cockpit. This means that warming up, motorway driving, towing, driving uphill or sporty driving are no longer a matter of guesswork, but a driving situation you can consciously assess.

How D2 works

Oil dipstick with temperature sensor for direct measurement Measures the engine oil temperature directly in the engine oil rather than deriving it from coolant or other vehicle data.

BLE-sensor module Transmits the current reading wirelessly via Bluetooth Low Energy through the bulkhead to the display.

AMOLED display on the air vent The 3.05 cm (1.2 inch) AMOLED touchscreen display, with a resolution of 390 × 390 pixels, is mounted within easy reach on the air vent using a magnetic mount and can be adjusted quickly.

Separate D2 converter Powers the display via the connection cable and makes its position independent of the location of the vehicle power socket.

No CAN bus. No ignition power. No sensor data cable from the engine compartment to the cockpit.

Position the oil temperature display where it naturally meets your eye.

D2 separates the power supply from the display position. This means that the location of the 12 V vehicle power socket does not determine your viewing angle: attach the display to the air vent with the magnetic mount, align it and keep the engine oil temperature in view exactly where it suits your cockpit.

Flexible line of sight: Choose a position on a suitable air vent and align the display.
Magnetic attachment: Remove and reattach the display quickly as required.
Separate supply: The converter and connection cable allow the display to be positioned independently of the socket.
Design selection: Cobalt blue, carbon black or titanium silver for your interior.

D2 is the right choice if line of sight and a flexible cockpit position are your priorities.

The current fitment service applies to suitable push-in oil dipsticks; screw-on and bayonet-type versions are not currently supported. For D2, a suitable air vent and a sensible cable/converter position are also required.

The high-resolution AMOLED display, the grippy encoder ring, the touch controls, the precise magnetic mount and the anodised surfaces form a system in which information and design work as one. D2 does not feel like an aftermarket measuring instrument, but like a deliberately integrated cockpit feature.

Installation principle

Clearly structured from the sensor to the display.

Adjust the oil dipstick with temperature sensor to the required length, select the appropriate O-rings and insert the sensor.
Mount the sensor module in the engine compartment away from intense heat, movement, sharp edges and excessive moisture.
Connect the black lead to the battery negative terminal or a suitable earth point, and the red, fused lead to the battery positive terminal.
Position the D2 magnetic mount on a suitable air vent and align the display.
Connect the separate converter, route the connection cable neatly to the display and commission OELMETRIK.

The original oil dipstick remains the tool for precise oil-level checks. All installation, commissioning and operating instructions can be found in the latest OELMETRIK manual.

What is OELMETRIK D2?

OELMETRIK D2 is an engine oil temperature monitoring system featuring an oil dipstick with temperature sensor, a BLE sensor module and an AMOLED touchscreen on the air vent. It displays the current reading, temperature history and further analyses in the cockpit.

Why are there D1 and D2?

Both versions provide the same measurement. D1 integrates the display and converter directly into the 12 V vehicle power socket. D2 separates the power supply from the display position so that the display can be aligned on the air vent.

Does the display attach magnetically?

Yes. The D2 display is attached to the air vent via the magnetic mount and can be quickly detached for alignment or removal.

Does D2 require a power supply?

Yes. The measurement data is transmitted wirelessly to the display via BLE; the sensor module and display each require 12 V. With D2, a separate converter supplies power to the display.

Does D2 fit every air vent?

D2 requires a suitable air vent, a sensible display position and a tidy cable route. After you place your order, we also use your vehicle details to check whether the oil dipstick with temperature sensor is suitable for your engine.

Does OELMETRIK measure the oil level?

No. OELMETRIK measures engine oil temperature. For an accurate oil-level check, continue to use the original oil dipstick.

Does OELMETRIK automatically recommend a specific engine oil?

The oil statistics analyse the distribution across temperature ranges and operating times, supporting the technical assessment of driving profile, oil load, viscosity grade and oil-change interval. The manufacturer’s approvals for your vehicle remain authoritative.

Can I personalise the display?

Yes. You can upload your own logo via a compatible WebBLE environment; device and browser support may vary.
